I must say, I became very interested in the story and the main character, and I had a hard time putting the book down. But she did have her faiths and her knowledge of the transcendent. Plot was a tired story of vengeance with antagonists coming out of nowhere only to vanish in a simple-minded way. Perhaps, as Dodgson might have said, Alice is no more than a dream, a fairy tale about the trials and tribulations of growing up–or down, or all turned round–as seen through the expert eyes of a child. I quickly ordered a copy and put it aside looking for the "right" time to begin. I -do- remember the item arriving in a fashionable amount of time and being as described. Cousineau gives you much to think about, and he'll make you look at your life with refreshed vision.
